Falls Police Blotter: Questionable Assault; Burglary; and Criminal Damaging

Chemical spillageΒ 

A resident living on the 1400 block of Curtis Avenue called Cuyahoga Falls Police on Sept. 13 after someone poured chemicals in the interior of his car, causing $600 in damage. Police have a suspect and the car owner wishes to press charges.

The owner of Leipold Tire filed a police report on Sept. 14 after an unknown number of people hopped over a locked fence and stole 2,000 pounds of scrap metal from the local business. Estmated loss: $345. The owner wishes to press charges.

Small-time burglary

A Falls woman called police on Sept. 14 after someone she knew entered her Center Avenue apartment and stole $1,100 worth of property. She intends to press charges.

Questionable assault

A 19-year-old Falls man alleged he was jumped by 20 people at a party on the 1200 block of Center Avenue on Sept. 14. The partygoers denied the man’s claim and said he was an uninvited guest who refused to leave. Since the young man had no injuries, besides a few scrapes on his arm, the issue was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Parking lot drinker

A thirsty resident was cited for criminal trespassing and open container on Sept. 14 after police found him drinking beer in the Sheetz Gas Station parking lot. The 50-year-old Akron man was told not to return to the business for any reason.
