Why Go: This musical is the story of a pioneer woman and her six daughters.

4. MICHAEL CAVANAUGH IN CONCERT

Where/When: EJ Thomas Hall, 198 Hill St., Akron; Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Grammy and Tony award winner Michael Cavanaugh will perform The Hits of Billy Joel and More for this special Valentine's weekend concert with the Akron Symphony.

5. WINTER SERIES DANCE SHOWCASE

Where/When: Akron Civic Theatre, 182 South Main St., Akron; Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Two ballet groups, Verb Ballets and NEOS Dance Theatre, showcase their talents.
