Guns Involved In Robberies at Store, House

were called to investigate two aggravated robberies involving guns within the past week:
- A female clerk at called police at 11:54 p.m. Dec. 29 to report that an unknown male customer told her he was armed and to open up the register and give him all the money. The clerk, 56, complied, handing over about $90. The man fled to the parking lot to the south of Circle K and got into a vehicle that was last seen heading west on Reed Avenue at a high rate of speed.
- A resident of the 300 block of Chestnut Boulevard called police at 4:53 a.m. Dec. 31 to report that he had been assaulted and robbed at gunpoint at a home in the 2200 block of Schubert Avenue by a known individual. The crime occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. Dec. 31. The 19-year-old was treated at Akron General Medical Center for injuries to his eyes and cheeks, as well as a cut lip. The man declined prosecution of his assailant on an aggravated robbery charge, a felony.
