Hydrant Flushing Starts Monday

The Water and Utilities Department starts its annual initiative.

The city’s hydrant flushing and testing program starts today.

The water utilities department plans to flush the Cuyahoga Falls water system weekdays, during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This effort, which runs through June 30, will remove sediment and iron deposits from the water mains and provides an update on the status of each hydrant.

The city would like to remind residents that they may notice a discoloration of water, but it’s still safe to drink. However, it may affect laundry.
