"This morning, we are all focused on the horrific events that unfolded at Chardon High School," said Davis. "Our hearts go out to the entire Chardon Community as they deal with the aftermath of a deadly shooting at their high school...The alleged gunman has been captured and is in custody.
While no district can fully prepare for such unthinkable acts, please know that the Woodridge Local School District is as prepared as possible. With the ongoing support and assistance of our local police departments and emergency officials, our crisis plans are reviewed regularly. We are fortunate to have a school resource officer available at all times and work closely with him, the Cuyahoga Falls and Peninsula Police Departments to monitor the safety of our students and staff.

"Our hearts bleed for our friends and colleagues in Chardon," said Nichols. "We can all learn from this senseless act of violence; as my colleague struggled to say, if you haven’t hugged your kids and told them you love them in a while, now’s the time. We encourage everyone to take all threats seriously and alert school officials and law enforcement immediately. In the event of a threat, we have a comprehensive crisis plan to guide us through almost any situation."
