More Progress with Bridge on Northampton Road
Neighboring photographer chronicles latest developments at Mud Brook.
Eilert Ofstead, who lives near the project that had closed a portion of Northampton Road, reports that the project is nearly ready to open for traffic.Β
"Final asphalt paving was today (Friday, Nov 25)," Eilert said in an email. "The roadway itself is now totally passable, but still blocked while the finishing touches are being added.Β These include guard rails for the approaches to the new bridge, landscaping around the sides, placement of large boulders alongside the water to prevent erosion, and adding the final stripes to the roadway. Finishing touches involving painting of the upper sidewalls to resemble natural stones will probably wait until spring and warmer weather."
Ofstead, a member of the Akron Camera Club, knows his way around a single-lens reflex camera. The photos above, and others Ofstead has submitted, ought to be proof enough.

Patch reported that the project was a little behind schedule. Pouring concrete and other things are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and she has not been in a cooperative mood at all times.
Maybe Monday.Β
