Munroe Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter
Lawrence Hanly sentenced to 13 years in sister's New Year's Day strangulation.

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced that Lawrence Hanly, 37, of Munroe Falls Avenue in Munroe Falls pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
Hanly strangled his sister on New Year’s Day after she threatened to kill their mother.
After the attack, Hanly walked to the Munroe Falls police station and confessed, the prosecutor's office said.

Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands on Wednesday sentenced Hanly to 13 years in prison.
