New Vests for Cuyahoga Falls Police
City Council approves new protective gear purchase and more.

Cuyahoga Falls City Council approved the purchase of 61 body armor vests for police at its meeting Monday night.
The estimated cost of the $470 vests is $28,670. expects to be reimbursed for 50 percent of the cost by a federal grant.
The council also approved resurfacing of Portage Trail from Fourth to 13th streets.

The council went into executive session to discuss a moral claim by John P. Richard and then voted in chambers in favor of settling the claim. Law Director Paul Janus declined to disclose the specifics of the settlement until all documents are signed, which is expected later this week.
Ordinances were introduced for a permit to install and operate a private sanitary force main sewer in Quick Road; the repair and resurfacing of the parking lot for $75,000; the installation of storm sewers on Issaquah and Sequoia streets for $150,000; and two amendments to Codified Ordinances relating to income tax and alarm systems’ false alarms.
