Nichols Named New Superintendent

Leaving the Bucyrus district, he'll start in Cuyahoga Falls by Aug. 1

Todd Nichols has been named Superintendent of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District.

Board of Education President Therese Dunphy said in an email, "Like you, we were truly impressed by Dr. Nichol's singular philosophy of meeting each student where they are at and moving them forward. His diverse educational background, strong financial skills, and experience as an educational and community leader resonated with us. Specifically, his ability to achieve an increase of more than 30 percent in the graduation rate during his tenure as high school principal at Mad River High School, his ability to bring technology into every classroom in Bucyrus City Schools, his extensive use of data (posted throughout various building hallways) to drive decision-making in high-poverty schools, and his arsenal of communication tools (i.e.,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84blR8PKexg) were a few of the many talents that drew us to Dr. Nichols."

The board will hold a special meeting on Monday to vote on the terms of the contract with Nichols and to hold a reception for him at 6:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga Falls High School library.
