Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine to Honor Copley, Cuyahoga Falls Hero Cops

Forget comic books and action movies, here's a story about three real heroes. 

This past November, Cuyahoga Falls Police officers Ted Davis and Joel Moledor rushed to a residence on Squires Bend after getting a report of a woman frantically screaming.

When officers arrived, they could hear cries for help from behind a locked garage.

Moledor kicked the door in and he and Davis confronted Eugene Roseling, 60, of Euclid, who was stabbing his wife to death.

The officers subdued Roseling and saved the woman’s life.

For the heroic act, the patrolmen will receive meritorious service awards during Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Law Enforcement Conference in Columbus on Oct. 25 and 26.

"Officers Davis and Moledor are very deserving of this award from the Attorney
General,” said Falls Police Chief Tom Pozza. “Not only did they respond very quickly to the incident, but handled it in a very professional manner; thus saving the life of the victim being attacked. They are truly representative of what a great department we have here in Cuyahoga Falls."

Ben Campbell, a Copley Police Department officer, who shot and killed Michael Hance after he murdered seven people, including three children, will join the patrolmen in Columbus.

“Officer Campbell's actions on Aug. 7 were clearly heroic in that he was the first officer on the scene at the mass shooting,” said Copley Police Chief Michael Mier. “Before waiting for backup, he immediately searched for and located the shooter and when he issued some commands and (the) shooter did not obey, he shot and killed him. His actions were heroic. We're happy he's being recognized by (the attorney general).”

Campbell will be honored with the Valor Award.
