Gates Mills Man Accused of Selling Stolen Construction Equipment Taken from Cuyahoga Falls, Fairlawn and Kent

More than a dozen items taken from construction sites across Northeast Ohio

A 66-year-old Gates Mills man has been indicted on charges of selling more than a dozen pieces of construction equipment stolen from Northeast Ohio cities, including Cuyahoga Falls, Kent and Fairlawn.

Jerry Palladino faces a 20-count indictment for the sale of stolen property between 2005 and 2007.

Yale Stuble, 50, of Rome, OH, also faces charges in connection with the case: one count of sale or receipt of stolen vehicles.

The first of the 16 counts are connected to Palladino and Stuble possessing, concealing, storing, selling and or disposing of equipment, including bobcats and skid steers, and selling them at auctions out of state.

"This defendant is accused of crossing state lines with more than a dozen pieces of expensive construction equipment that was stolen,"Β Steven M. Dettelbach, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, said in a media release.

Palladino is accused of selling a stolen 2005 New Holland LX865 skid steer in South Carolina. The vehicle was reported stolen from Cuyahoga Falls in June 2005.

Paladino's also accused of also selling two skid steers from Fairlawn and Kent in Pennsylvania. A 2005 New Holland LS 180 skid steer was reported missing in Kent in June 2005 and a 2003 New Holland LS 170 skid steer was reported stolen in August 2005.

Charges in Palladino’s indictment also include:

  • Two counts of mail fraud
  • 14 counts of sale or receipt of stolen vehicles
  • Four counts of making a false tax return

Palladino is to appear for an arraignment before federal Magistrate Judge Nancy Vecchiarelli on Aug. 9Β in Cleveland.
