Police Blotter: $50,000 Burglary, Grand Theft and Failed Dognapping

A High Bridge Road resident reported an unknown number of thieves broke down her back door and stole a considerable amount of jewelry on Thursday afternoon. Initial estimates put the value of the stolen jewels at $50,000 or more.
Woman loses car, computer and cash
On Friday morning, a woman reported someone she knew stole her Ford Taurus, laptop and $30. The car, computer and cash were valued at $3,500.

Quick-handed thief
A woman reported a thief had slyly swiped $900 in cash from her purse while it was sitting in her shopping cart on Friday. No one saw who took it.

Trespassing on school grounds
Two men somehow broke into Cuyahoga Falls High School on Friday night and were seen wandering around the hallways via surveillance systems. The men weren’t immediately identified and it wasn’t clear whether or not they stole or damaged anything
Failed dognapping
A Symphony Street resident reported that two people tried to steal her dog from her back yard on Friday night. The dog was recovered when the people dropped it as they fled.
