Police Blotter: Thefts, Harassment and Menacing

Theft
• An Akron woman told police a known male drove off with her property, valued at $282, from at about 9 p.m. Oct. 22.
• Two female juveniles were caught trying to steal about $330 worth of baby and children’s clothing at Target, 449 Howe Ave., at about 7 p.m. Oct. 22.

• A resident of the 500 block of Lynn Drive reported her son’s bike, valued at $150, was stolen from a neighbor’s yard between 12:30 and 4 p.m. Oct. 22.
• A resident of the 500 block of Meredith Lane reported a friend has been robbed of $20,000 from her checking account. Another $4,000 was reported stolen in February. Police have a suspect and the victim said she will prosecute.

• A purse was reported stolen during a party on the 200 block of Orchard Avenue between 12:30 and 1:15 a.m. Oct. 22. The purse was later recovered, but the wallet and other contents were missing.
• A resident of the 500 block of Portage Trail East reported a man she knows stole $60 in cash and a set of jumper cables from her car at about 3 a.m. Oct. 22.
• Someone took electronics valued at $429 from Sam’s Club, 1189 Bucholzer Blvd., about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 20. There is a suspect, police said, and the store will prosecute.
• An Akron woman was arrested at Acme, 2630 Bailey Rd., on charges of theft after Acme security reported seeing her leave the store at about 7:15 p.m. Oct. 20 with groceries she didn’t pay for. The merchandise was valued at $102.27.
• The administrator at Traditions reports that a resident is missing three rings and a chain valued at $176 between Oct. 22 and Oct. 23.
Telecommunications harassment
• A resident on the 2000 block of 3rd Street reported receiving threatening calls from an unknown caller on Oct. 22. Police told her to contact her cellphone provider.
• Residents on the 300 block of Morrison Avenue reported receiving harassing phone calls from a male they know after he told by them and police to stop called. They were referred to their phone carrier.
Menacing
A resident of the 2600 block of Elmwood Street reported that her soon-to-be ex-husband followed her in a car from 8:45 to 9 a.m. on Oct. 21, which made her fear for her safety. She declined prosecution.
