Theft
• A temporary license tag was taken from a car in the parking lot at 2220 High St. the night of Nov. 30.

• A loss prevention officer at , 655 E. Portage Trail caught David Ingersoll of Stow attempting to leave the store a can of soup and a box of Chore Boy without paying at about 6 p.m. Dec. 1, police said. Ingersoll was arrested and charged with theft.

A resident of the 200 block of Grove Avenue reported that $200 was taken from a basket in his home between 4 p.m. Nov. 25 and 1 p.m. Nov. 26. He did not know how the intruder gained entry into his home.
Violation of protection order
The father of a child at Child Time, 1189 Tallmadge Rd., attempted to contact the child at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in violation of a protection order stamped Nov. 28, police said. The Summit County Sheriff’s Department had no record of the order being served.
Criminal mischief
• Someone used black marker to write profane statements that included a resident’s name on an apartment hallway in the 2200 block of Winter Parkway on Nov. 30. The resident named a suspect and has notified the property manager.
