Police Blotter: Counterfeit $20 Found at Circle K Store

Counterfeiting

A manager at Circle K, 2709 Front St., said a counterfeit $20 bill was passed at the store between 3 and 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Bradley D. Rankin of Front Street was charged with possession of a wood pipe for smoking marijuana at about 1:30 a.m. Oct. 11. Police said Rankin admitted to using the pipe for marijuana.

• An Akron man was arrested on charges of theft from Giant Eagle, 230 Howe Ave., at about 1 p.m. Oct. 12. A can of Vienna Sausages and a jar of Hormel pigs’ feet, valued at about $6, were confiscated from Carnell A. Williams of Goodwin Street in Akron. He was also charged with an open container violation. 

• A 17-year-old resident of the 2700 block of Sixth Street was arrested and charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property at about 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 10. Police found stolen cellphones, GPS units and medication.

• A resident of the 1500 block of State Road said a Discover credit card and checkbook were stolen from a safe in her room between Sept. 12 and Oct. 3. 

• An employee at Marc’s, 2900 State Rd., reported that his keys and a keyless remote were stolen from an employee area while he was at work on Oct. 10.

• A resident of the 200 block of Tyler Avenue reported a bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage on Oct. 9 or 10. The bike is valued at $100.
