Police Blotter: Thanksgiving, Black Friday Thievery

Theft
• A resident on the 1000 block of Falls Avenue reported two vehicles had items stolen from them the night of Nov. 26. Missing were router bits valued at $80, a wallet with ID and $45 in cash, a GPS unit valued at $120 and Social Security cards and birth certificates. Total loss was estimated at $305.
• A resident of the 1800 block of 10th Street reported that a first aid kit, cash, CDs and deposit slips were taken from her car while it was parked in the driveway the night of Nov. 26. Loss was estimated at $43.

• A resident of the 900 block of Falls Avenue told police his Nintendo DS game system was stolen from his car while it was parked in the driveway the night of Nov. 26. The game system was valued at $150.
• A New York man reported that his wallet was stolen from his coat while he was at Target, 449 Howe Ave., between 2 p.m. Nov. 24 and noon Nov. 25.

• An Akron resident reported that her rental car was stolen after her keys were stolen while at Target on Howe Avenue at about 5 p.m. Nov. 25. Loss was estimated at $14,000.
• A resident on the 1800 block of Second Street reported that someone made five fraudulent charges to her credit card for a total of $1,094.28 between Nov. 11 and Nov. 23.
• A resident on the 1300 block of Bailey Road reports that someone has been taking mail out of her mailbox. The amount of mail missing is unknown.
• A resident on the 1800 block of Second Street reported an unidentified male took $360 in cash as well as Wii and Playstation game systems and accessories through deception between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17. Total loss is estimated at $1,670.
• A Mogadore resident reported theft from his unlocked lockboxes in his pickup truck between 6:15 and 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at , 230 Howe Ave. Items taken include an air compressor, framing nailer, framing stapler, roofing nailer and a trim nailer. No estimate of loss was given.
Criminal damaging
• A resident of the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue said someone threw a rock through his apartment window at about 3:15 a.m. Nov. 24.
• A resident of the 300 block of Pleasant Meadow Boulevard reported that someone painted messages on her garage door, entry door and front fence in the early morning hours of Nov. 26.
Telecommunication harassment
• A resident of the 1500 block of Campbell Street reported receiving two threatening phone calls from a known person on Nov. 23. She said she is willing to prosecute.
Identity fraud
• A resident on the 3300 block of Prange Drive told police someone used her name and Social Security number to get a job in Columbus between Nov. 1 and Nov. 23.
• A resident of the 2200 block of 27th Street reported someone used his Discover card account number to attempt to buy three headphones valued at $925.43 over the Internet about 4 p.m. Nov. 21. He was able to cancel the transactions and cancel the card.
