Police Blotter: Woman Awakens to Burglar, Thefts and Preston School Park Assault

A woman woke up on Friday afternoon to someone smashing down the door to her Stone Street apartment. She quickly called police who arrived minutes later. There was no sign of the burglar. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Double the trouble
On Saturday afternoon, a man reported that someone opened the door to his unlocked car parked on Treasch Drive, stole several credit cards from his wallet and made numerous unauthorized purchases. The man canceled the cards and halted the unwarranted spending spree.

Sneaky crook
A sneaky crook stole a woman’s Nintendo Wii by slipping through an unlocked door of her Fifth Street residence on Friday afternoon. The gaming system and accessories were valued at $400.

One expensive Apple
If only tablets were theft proof. On Friday evening, a woman called police after realizing someone had nabbed her iPad 2 from the backyard of her Edward Avenue residence. The popular Apple computer was valued at $800.
Assault
On Thursday morning, a woman reported that her daughter was lured to and assaulted by two girls she didn’t know. The girl suffered only minor injuries.
