String of Burglaries Reported in Cuyahoga Falls

Keep a lookout for people creeping into backyards or strangers knocking on multiple doors in your neighborhood because, chances are, they don’t have the best of intentions.

Here’s a small string of burglaries reported in Cuyahoga Falls over the past week:

• A man living on the 1800 block of Newberry Street called on the evening of Aug. 23 to report a break-in. According to the police report, the burglar kicked in the back door and stole a gun and medication sometime between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. Total loss: $250. The man’s neighbor called police shortly after to report her house had been burglarized as well. This time, the burglar broke through the front door and stole $75 in medication.

• On Aug. 25, a burglar slipped through an unlocked door of a residence on the 1600 block of 7^th Street. A camera and other electronics were taken. Total loss: $580.

• A man called police on Aug. 25 to report someone had broken into his residence on the 1700 block of 3^rd Street. The burglar stole video games, a video game system, a sword and a guitar. The resident believes the crime occurred sometime on Aug. 18. Total loss: $1,120.

• On Aug. 26 at 2 a.m., someone tried to break into the State 8 Motorcycle and ATV warehouse, located at 4193 State Rd. Police were called to the scene after the security alarm was tripped. When officers arrived, they found a cinder block had been used to smash out one of the windows; however, nothing was stolen. Total damage: $500.

No arrests have been made in connection to these incidents, but police are investigating.
