Summit DD Earns Statewide Recognition for Promoting Disability Awareness

Summit DD recently received five awards for positively promoting developmental disability awareness.

(Tallmadge, Ohio) – Summit DD was recently honored at the annual Ohio Public Images Awareness Awards in Columbus. The Agency received five awards for positively promoting developmental disability awareness through Overall Public Relations Efforts, an Audio Visual Production, a Broadcast Public Service Announcement, and a Special Publication. For the fifth award, Summit DD nominated WKYC-TV for a collaborative In-Depth Featured Broadcast.

“It’s an honor for Summit DD to be recognized for these efforts. It really makes us stand out not only in our community, but on a state level. I’d like to thank the individuals we support for sharing their amazing stories, and I’d like to congratulate our staff for the hard work put in to receive these awards,” shared Summit DD Superintendent, John Trunk.

The Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, is a levy-funded community resource that provides services to more than 4,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families in Summit County. It is the organization’s mission to offer a lifetime of services and supports to eligible individuals and families that empower people with developmental disabilities to work, live, and learn as equal citizens in their communities.
