Johnson previously worked in Dayton radio and says he's eager to reconnect with Miami Valley listeners, while the station thanks outgoing night host "Jordan Knight" as he focuses on his Orlando morning show.
4. Dayton Region STEM Schools announces new Center for Manufacturing Sciences (dayton247now.com) — Dayton Regional STEM Schools in nearby Kettering are adding an 11,000-square-foot Center for Manufacturing Sciences, expanding hands-on labs and innovation spaces for Dayton-area students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Funded by a major philanthropic gift, the project will deepen pathways in engineering, healthcare, and computer science, with construction starting this fall and opening targeted for the 2027–28 school year.
5. Retired agent shares memories of 9/11 recovery efforts in Shanksville (eagledayton.com) — A retired FBI special agent who was based in Dayton on Sept. 11, 2001, is sharing how he rushed from a local hospital to deploy to the Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville. He recalls weeks of painstaking evidence recovery, supporting victims' families, and later assisting at the World Trade Center, offering Dayton residents a personal connection to the attacks' legacy.
