GA-ASI Opening a New Facility in Dayton, Ohio (soldiersystems.net) — Dayton will gain a new 22,000-square-foot General Atomics Aeronautical Systems innovation hub near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, expected to open in spring 2027 and hire about 50 local employees. State and regional partners say the expansion strengthens Ohio's aerospace sector and brings more high-tech defense work and career opportunities to the Dayton area.
   

2. Felons with a Future urges Dayton to end cycle of shootings (wdtn.com) — Dayton residents are being urged by local group Felons with a Future to help break the recent cycle of shootings by choosing peace and reaching out before conflicts escalate. The organization promotes violence interruption through outreach, mediation, and community presence, and invites locals to publicly commit to safety by signing its online Peace Pledge.
   

3. Ohio report cards released, Miami Valley school district results vary (dayton247now.com) — Dayton Public Schools again earned an overall two-star rating on Ohio's latest report cards, falling short of state standards but showing notable gains at several individual schools. District leaders highlight improvements in gap closing, performance index, and graduation rates at multiple Dayton schools, while calling for more certified teachers and setting a long-term goal of becoming a four-star district.
   

4. Flock Cameras Are Under Fire Again After What Audit Logs Revealed (lawenforcementtoday.com) — Dayton-area drivers are part of a growing debate over how Flock automated license plate readers are really being used, after Dayton Daily News audit-log findings suggested some Ohio departments accessed data for traffic infractions despite stated policies. Local agencies including Dayton, Trotwood, Kettering and others are now facing questions from privacy advocates about surveillance, enforcement priorities, and how often these cameras track routine traffic behavior.
