Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Dayton Student

Star Student Award Recognizes Students for Achievement In and Out of the Virtual Classroom

Khalil Lafdi of Dayton, Ohio was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for December in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Khalil, a Junior, has been attending OCA since 2010. He enrolled in the online charter school because he wanted to attend school from home with the ability to work at his own pace. According to Khalil, this approach to learning has helped him to become better at managing his time, something he believes will help him in the future.

Khalil’s English teacher Mrs. Woischke nominated him for the award because of his passion for learning. He actively participates in the LiveLesson online class sessions and is always asking questions and offering feedback. As a Star Student, Khalil will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.
