Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Dayton Student

Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom

Aidan Richards of Dayton was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for April in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Aidan, a fifth grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his Science teacher Mrs. Walls because of his hard work and determination to succeed. As a Star Student, Aidan will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.

Aidan was enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy when he entered Kindergarten in 2013. For first and second grade, he attended school in a traditional classroom. He returned to OCA in the third grade because he preferred the flexibility that allows him to work at his own pace. His mother Amber appreciates how he can take his time and go over any lesson as much as he needs and with the challenges he has with his speech, OCA gives her son a sense of security.

Each month OCA recognizes two students in each of the four grade bands for their achievements in and out of the classroom. The following Ohio Connections Academy students were also recognized as Star Students of the Month for April:
