Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Huber Heights Student
Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom
Laurence McCorkle of Huber Heights was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for November in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.
Laurence, a seventh grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by teacher Mrs. Reger because of he always offers great insight during class time and is helpful to his classmates. “He has a great attitude towards learning and his enthusiasm is contagious,” she said.
Laurence came to Ohio Connections Academy at the start of this academic year as his parents wanted him in a more challenging academic environment. His mother Katrina said the online school has enabled Laurence to thrive as a student because he can move at his own pace.
