Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Kettering Student

Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom

Joseph Lang of Kettering was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for December in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Joseph, a second grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Leabu because of the hard work he puts into his schoolwork and the great attitude he brings to class. As a Star Student, Joseph will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.

Joseph’s mother and grandmother enrolled him in Ohio Connections Academy at the beginning of the school year because of its reputation as being one of the best online schools. According to his mother Lynsi, since coming to OCA, Joseph’s confidence has grown not only in his academic life but in his everyday life. “We enjoy watching him grow and learn,” she said.
