50 Million Americans don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. The film is presented by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron’s Food Justice Ministry and UU Women in Action, Thursday, October 17 at 7 pm at 3300 Morewood Dr, Fairlawn (across from Summit Mall). Representatives from the UUCA’s Food Justice Ministry will share their recent efforts in combating hunger in our community through the community garden and community meal program.
1 in 4 children go hungry in the United States. “If another country did this to our children we would be at war.” Jeff Bridges from A Place at the Table. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all.
