Akron Community Foundation seeks grant applications for health, basic needs programs

The board of Akron Community Foundation is accepting applications for its health and human services grant cycle.

It will give priority to programs that meet the basic needs of Summit County’s most economically vulnerable residents, including food, clothing, shelter and safety from abuse. In addition, the board will consider programs that encourage systemic improvements in the community’s overall health and wellness.

Last year, the community foundation awarded a total of $408,000 to health and human services programs, including those that help children transitioning from homelessness, protect victims of violence and more.
