Drs. Regula, Handwork join Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics in Fairlawn

Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics welcomes Katrina Regula, MD, and Larry Handwork, MD, FAAP, to its pediatric primary care office at 701 White Pond Drive in Fairlawn.

As experienced pediatricians, Regula and Handwork provide a full range of care – for infants, children as well as teens – including:

• well-child visits and routine check-ups,
• immunizations,
• sports, school and camp physicals,
• treatment for illness and injury, and
• chronic disease management.

Services in all pediatric subspecialties are coordinated with Akron Children’s Hospital.

Regula received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2007, and completed her pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Regula comes to Akron Children’s from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg. She enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding, road biking and playing piano. Her family includes husband Dr. Eric Regula and newborn son Christopher.

Handwork received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1986, and completed his residency at Akron Children’s Hospital. He is a fellow with American Academy of Pediatrics and is also fellowship-trained in primary care sports medicine. Handwork comes to Akron Children’s from North Canton Medical Foundation. His family includes wife Colleen, son Patrick and daughters Lauren and Erin.

The practice welcomes new patients. Most insurance plans and Medicaid are accepted.

Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; Fridays, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and Sunday, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. (Oct.-May only). Same-day appointments are available.
