"The Rest Is History" at Fairlawn-Bath Library!

History Columnist Mark J. Price from Akron Beacon Journal will be at Fairlawn-Bath Library Monday evening at 6:30pm to discuss book "The Rest Is History."

If you read the Akron Beacon Journal, you are probably familiar with columnist Mark J. Price and his popular weekly column “This Place, This Time.”  His new book “The Rest Is History: True Tales From Akron’s Vibrant Past” from the University of Akron Press has barely seen any time at all on library shelves since we first received it three months ago!

Mark Price will be our special guest on Monday evening at 6:30pm at the Fairlawn-Bath Branch Library as he discusses his book and recounts some of the fun and interesting tales about Akron’s past that has made its history so fascinating.  Included in the book is a story about the U.S. president who strolled through the countryside, the Akron stagehand who became a Hollywood icon, the beloved beagle that attended elementary school, the natural landmark that slid underground, the pop concert that made girls faint, the lost cemetery that turned into a city park and the world-famous gadget that caught on in Northeast Ohio.

Copies of “The Rest Is History” will be available to purchase and signing at the program.  If you enjoy local history, you will not want to miss this!
