City of Fairlawn Officially Brands Market Street as The 18 Corridor. The City of Fairlawn has branded their section of State Route 18, a 2.1 mile stretch along Market Street, officially as The 18 Corridor. With this branding effort, their goal is to attract more visitors and business to the city, and encourage them to take advantage of the many shops, businesses, restaurants and lodging. The campaign is also aiming to encourage tourists to stay in Fairlawn lodging when taking in the many sites in the Greater Cleveland and Greater Akron areas. The city will also use the effort to attract new businesses to locate or relocate to Fairlawn, while also encouraging redevelopment and updating of existing properties. There will be several programs put into motion in the next months and years to help achieve this goal. Planned marketing executions will include the development of traditional and online digital billboards, a social media campaign, several community related events, video development and public relations. Local businesses will also have multiple opportunities to partner with the city throughout the campaign. The City of Fairlawn launched a new website in conjunction with the branding effort, designed to promote local businesses and the programs they will be implementing. The new website can be accessed at www.The18Corridor.com. Businesses in the area will also be able to promote their business on the new website and The 18 Corridor social media platforms. The branding and subsequent marketing campaign was developed and is being managed by The Eisen Agency, a nationally award winning branding, marketing and media agency that works with destination points, municipalities and businesses.

Last Friday, police dispatchers received calls from two elderly Bath women who were reportedly harassed by a scam artist posing as a cop. During each call, a man identifying himself as Capt. Jack Dembrowski informs the women their checking accounts have been illegally accessed, according to a message posted on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bath-Police-Department/204775153109?ref=ts&amp;fref=ts" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Bath Police Department's Facebook page</a> He then prods about whether the women have weapons or valuables in their homes, and becomes aggressive when they refuse to answer<a href="http://fox8.com/2013/03/01/police-warn-residents-of-captain-jack-scam/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">, Fox 8 News reports. </a> Bath Police Chief Michael McNeely said the con man was likely trying to figure out whether there were valuables in the homes worth stealing. Greg Lang said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
