Copley Students Celebrate Graduation

Students receive more than $2 million in grants and scholarships.

With the high school band playing “Pomp and Circumstance,” the 2011 class of walked down the aisles in the gym, the men in black and the women in white, to culminate their past 13 years of education.
Friends and family filled the stands, shouting out to individual graduates and taking photos of the students in their robes.


On Sunday almost 250 students were honored in the commencement ceremony.
Principal congratulated the class on their achievements and told them it was a privilege to serve as their principal. “You are truly a special group,” he said.

Student Council President Elisa Rininger told the future may be uncertain and frightening, they have the opportunity to do much. “We have the potential to do something great with our lives,” Rininger said.

The class received more than $2 million in grants and scholarships for further education, said director of guidance Corinne Magensky.

Valedictorian Saajid Moyen, who is planning on attending University of Pennsylvania and studying computer science and economics, said family and others helped the graduates get to this point, but its up to them to craft their future. “Now, it’s our duty to fulfill our potential,” Moyen said.
