The Copley-Fairlawn Middle School PTSA is hosting its 31st annual Turkey Trot on the school grounds.
Fifth-grade boys will begin the staggered-start, 1-mile run at 1 p.m., followed by fifth-grade girls then sixth-grade boys and then sixth-grade girls. Seventh and eighth graders begin their staggered-start, 1 1/2-mile race at 2 p.m.
About 1,000 students are expected to run. Each run will end with an assembly where the top runners for each grade will receive a turkey. The first 15 runners will receive T-shirts. Runners 16 through 30 will receive water bottles.
