Sometimes good deals fall into your lap, and other times you have to do some bargain hunting. This week fell into the latter category. No doubt I missed something out there. But there are deals to be had.

• Laser Quest, 80 Brookmont Dr., Fairlawn, 330-666-6966. Laser tag is a game for the young and young at heart. Kids have a blast zapping each other (and mom or dad) and get a little exercise even if the weather is inhospitable. Admission is $8, or $6 for members ($25 for new members, $15 renewal) for a 20- to 25-minute session. Be mindful about how many sessions you play; you could find yourself not living the frugal life if you’re not careful. Laser Quest welcomes groups for private outings, including birthday parties. It’s open weeknights and noon-11 p.m. Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday. On Mondays it’s available for private group events only. • Hale Farm & Village, 2686 Oak Hill Rd., Bath Township, 330-666-3711. Hale Farm & Village is a living museum set in the 19th century. If you have school-age kids, there’s a chance they’ve been there. The historic settings and re-enactments bring history to life. On select dates in March and April, Hale Farm re-creates the Underground Railroad. There are dates for school groups and separate evening events for the general public. This year marks the sesquicentennial (150 year anniversary) of the American Civil War, perhaps the most tumultuous period in American history. Hale Farm plans events and activities over the next several years to commemorate that period of history. There is a shop on site that may tempt you to spend your hard-earned bucks. Regular admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children. A family membership, $55 for first-time members, gives free admission year-round to Hale Farm & Village as well as all Western Reserve Historical Society sites, including the museums in Cleveland’s University Circle and other facilities. To arrange a visit call 330-666-3711 or send an email.
