Here’s a chili cook-off, nature hike and a show at EJ Thomas Hall — pick and choose from this week’s array of events.


Where/When:  Copley High School Commons on Saturday from 5 p.m. to  7 p.m.

Why Go: To sample dozens of  chili and dessert recipes. The event also benefits the Lauren Audrey Braman Memorial Music Fund.

Pricing: Admission is $7; free for children under 5.

Where/When: on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: If you are a home-schooling family, this is a good hands-on nature lesson.

Pricing: $32; $30 for Fairlawn residents.

 

THE ALUMINUM SHOW

Where/When: EJ Thomas Hall, 8 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: The performance combines movement, dance and visual theater.

Pricing: $50 with a special four-pack family discount.

 

• NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT

Where/When:, anytime.

Why Go:  Wander through the park and find what you can from the scavenger hunt sheet. Return your completed sheets to the naturalists for a prize. Hunt sheets can be picked up anytime at the Learning Resource Center.

Pricing: Free.

 

• NATURE AND A MOVIE: FAMILY NIGHT

Where/When: F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Visitor's Center, 7 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Bring your own blanket and drinks, and join Sarah Matheny for a viewing of  Disneynature: Earth. The Nature Realm will supply the popcorn.
