How Hot Does a Closed Car Get in the Summer Sun? See For Yourself

Many people think if they leave a window cracked open, children and pets will be fine

With two recent instances of people leaving a pet and a child in a hot car, Twinsburg and Solon PatchΒ Local Editor Mitch CooperΒ thought he'd see what that's like.Β

In Beachwood a woman wasΒ cited for leaving her dog in a hot carΒ on Tuesday.Β

And on Saturday July 13,Β a woman was arrested for leaving her 11-month-old child in a hot car alone.Β

Cooper braved 30 minutes in a hot car Friday when the outside temperature was in the 90s. He did it wearing a sweatshirt to appreciate what it's like to be a child or a petΒ in a hot car.

How hot do you think it got?Β
