The Lippman School Celebrates 50th Anniversary This Weekend

Akron, OH: The Lippman School, will celebrate 50 years of academic excellence and innovation this Saturday, March 14, with a celebration at the school.

The Lippman School was founded in 1965 as Hillel Academy, a private, state-accredited elementary school providing a quality individualized program of general studies combined with a well-rounded Jewish education, and was renamed The Lippman Jewish Community Day School in 1989, becoming The Lippman School in 2010.

Lippman’s Head of School, Sam Chestnut, says “We want to do something special to honor our school’s rich history, as well as all the alumni, generous donors, and community members who have made it possible for us to provide a quality education to our students over the past 50 years. The night will include opportunities for community members to learn about the new educational vision for the school.”

In addition, he says, the school wants to do something big to give back to the community. So, members of our school community have generously supported the donation of 50 trees to the City of Akron and 50 trees to Israel. This fundraising effort is still underway.

In Akron, the trees will be planted next month at Forest Lodge, Schneider Park, Hardesty Park, and the Glendale Steps.

The Lippman School a co-ed, Independent school for children Kindergarten through 8th grade. A global perspective is woven throughout academics, art, and experiential programming. Students flourish in a nurturing and challenging environment, where they develop the intellect, confidence, and character they need to successfully flourish in High School and beyond.
