Scholarship fund for LGBT, allied students seeks applications

Applications are due by Sunday, April 30

The GCEF Scholarship Fund of Akron Community Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied students who have positively impacted the LGBT community.

Established by the Gay Community Endowment Fund, the GCEF Scholarship Fund awards academic scholarships to LGBT and allied students who live or study in Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties. Priority is given to students who have participated in organizations or initiatives that make a positive difference in the LGBT community.

Scholarship applications are due by Sunday, April 30. A link to the online application and instructions for applying are available at www.akroncf.org/applyGCEFscholarship.

The Gay Community Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation established the GCEF Scholarship Fund in 2012 to provide scholarships to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied students who live or attend school in the geographic area served by the fund, including Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties.
