Serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer's Childhood Home Listed for Rental During GOP National Convention

The property where Jeffrey Dahmer killed the first of his 17 victims can be rented for $10,000 the week of the GOP Convention.

BATH, OHIO — Want to come to the Cleveland area for the Republican National Convention, but still don't have anywhere to stay?

The approved housing provider for the convention, Howard Hanna, has a place for you: The childhood home of notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal. The house is listed at a price of $10,000 for the week of the convention, which is scheduled to take place July 18-21. The house is a 30-minute drive from the Quicken Loans Area, the site of the convention.

From 1978 to 1991 Dahmer killed 17 victims, all men or boys, and was suspected to have molested and eaten the corpses of some of his victims. When Dahmer was arrested in Milwaukee the remains of a number of his victims were found in his apartment.

The house, located at 4480 West Bath Road, is also the scene of Dahmer's first murder. In 1978 Dahmer picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks and eventually killed and dismembered him, burying his body parts in the woods behind the house.

If you believe in ghosts, do not rent.

Currently, the listing on Howard Hanna leaves out some of these details.

"Mid-century modern home with a true park-like setting. Smoking and animals okay. Close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Montrose shopping. Easy access to I-77 highway," reads the listing.

Sounds nice, doesn't it?

The current owner of the home, Chris Butler, told the Akron Beacon Journal that he listed the house "for the heck of it," and to “suck some Republican gelt from those people.”

If a brave soul, and heavy sleeper, does actually rent out the house, Butler told the Beacon Journal that he will stay with friends or take a trip to Europe.
