Viewfinder: The Life and Death of John Brown at the Fairlawn-Bath Library

One-man show part of Civil War lecture series.

Fairlawn-Bath Patch photographer Sam Verbulecz brings us a glimpse into Ohio history from the Fairlawn-Bath library Wednesday. Donning a costume and makeup, 58-year-old playwright and singer/songwriter Mike Petee took on the persona of the Ohio abolitionist John Brown during his final days.

Petee told Brown’s story as if written in a letter to his wife as he waited in jail before his execution.

The event was part of a Civil War lecture series is sponsored by Friends of Fairlawn Bath Library and hosted by the Bath Township Historical Society and Museum.
