• Truck driver convicted in triple-fatal crash (delgazette.com) — A Galena couple injured in a deadly nine-vehicle crash on I-71 are suing the convicted truck driver and his company, alongside a separate wrongful-death suit from another family. The driver was just found guilty of aggravated vehicular homicide and assault in Delaware County, with sentencing set for late October and both civil cases moving toward consolidation.
   

• Harlem Twp. redefining zoning definitions (delgazette.com) — Harlem Township's zoning commission, meeting in the Galena area, has been tightening key zoning definitions and starting a major update of its comprehensive plan that could shape future development. Members discussed data centers, nonconforming lots, overlays, and upcoming road changes along Fancher Road, with outside consultants now hired to guide the eight-to-ten-month planning overhaul.
   

• Southport unveils memorial one year after mass shooting that killed 3 (wwaytv3.com) — One of the three people honored at a new memorial in Southport, North Carolina, is 56-year-old Michael Durbin of Galena who was killed in a mass shooting there last year. Southport Cares funded the tribute and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support victims' families, with trees planted as a lasting reminder of those lost.
