• WELCOME HOME: DuBois Native Justin Miknis Named Kent State Assistant Baseball Coach (gantnews.com) — Kent residents may spot a familiar face in the dugout as former Golden Flashes catcher Justin Miknis returns to Kent State as an assistant baseball coach. The DuBois native brings recent pro playing and player-development experience from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, and says he's "super excited" to be back in Kent working with former coaches and teammates.
   

• Update: Holy Family school sustained electrical fire, priest confirms (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — Kent firefighters helped respond to an electrical fire at Holy Family Parish School on Kent Road in nearby Stow, where damage was limited to one classroom wall and no injuries were reported. School leaders say the academic calendar, including the August 26 opening, will proceed as planned while repairs are addressed.
   

• Christian Holden Receives $2,500 Mechanical Contracting Scholarship (constructionowners.com) — A Kent State University construction management student, Christian Holden, has earned a $2,500 Robert J. Durr Sr. UA/NCPWB Partnering Scholarship supporting his studies in the mechanical contracting field. With internships at firms including S.A. Comunale and involvement in Kent State's student chapter, Holden's award highlights ongoing industry investment in skilled-trades education connected to the Kent campus.
