This past Saturday, the Kent State Honors College recognized the accomplishments of its graduating body at the 26th annual Senior Honors Luncheon.
These students will be graduating this year with degrees in a variety of fields. Some will be continuing their education, while others will be taking their Kent State education abroad. Many hope to find work here locally, and some have already lined up jobs and internships.
Also recognized at the luncheon were Deborah R. Barnbaum and Kip A. Petroff. Deborah is an Honors Philosophy Professor and was nominated by her students as this year's Distinguished Honors Faculty Award recipient.

Kip is a 1980 graduate from the Honors Program at Kent State. After graduating, Kip moved to Dallas where he started the law firm Petroff & Associates. He received national recognition for his work in the "Fen-Phen" drug settlement, which he later turned into a book. All of the proceeds from the sales of his book are donated to the non-profit organization that Kip's son started.
Kip's legacy to the university also includes an endowed scholarship in the memory of his professor and mentor, the late Dr. Tabbs. He has also donated several inspirational lecture recordings from Dr. Tabb's class to the Honors College. Kip was recognized as this year's Distinguished Honors Alumni Award recipient.
