Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is hosting the Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking for a presentation that is free and open to the public on Wednesday, March 20 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Intermediate Hall of the Ralph Regula Confreence and Event Center at NEOMED.
Each year, nearly 800 foreign-born people are trafficked in Ohio for sex or labor purposes with another 3,400 foreign-born people at risk of trafficking. This program, sponsored by the NEOMED Embracing Diversity Series, will describe the crime of human trafficking, its prevalence as an international as well as very local issue, and what citizens can do about it.
Light refreshments will be served, and attendees are asked to RSVP at www.neomed.edu by March 15.
