Jarrod Page named Kent State golf course manager

KENT, Ohio – Kent State University has named Jarrod Page '08 as its golf course manager. Page, a Kent State alumnus, returns to his alma mater after serving as operations manager the past year at Briarwood Golf Club in Broadview Heights, Ohio.

 

In his new role, Page will supervise and be responsible for the detailed operation of the Kent State golf course, clubhouse, pro shop and maintenance including supervision of the golf course superintendent. Additionally, Page will oversee marketing and facilities; serve as a liaison to various golf associations, leagues, tournaments and teams; and prepare and manage the annual budget among a host of other responsibilities.

"We are excited to welcome back Jarrod in this role," said Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen. "Based on his experience in the golf industry and in northeast Ohio, along with being an alum, we feel he is the perfect fit. I invite everyone in the community to come out and meet Jarrod."

Page oversaw scheduling and training during his time at Briarwood, while managing the pro shop, handling outside service, supervising restaurant staff and creating budgets. Additionally, he developed social networking sites along with a sales and marketing plan to increase revenue in the golf shop and restaurant.

 

Prior to Briarwood, Page served as assistant golf manager at Legend Lake Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio; head golf professional at Little Mountain Country Club in Painesville, Ohio; and assistant golf professional at Little Mountain Country Club and Stone Water Golf Club.

 

Page earned his bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, with a minor in management from Kent State in 2008. He was also a member of the men's golf team under the tutelage of head coach Herb Page (no relation), and a former teammate of volunteer assistant coach Tom Ballinger.
