Portage Learning Centers 1^st Annual Race to the Finish 5K and 1.5 Mile Walk

Ravenna (March 30, 2013) – Portage Learning Centers will hold its first annual 5K race and 1.5 mile Walk at Wingfoot Lake State Park on May 11.

The event will be the first public race to be held at Wingfoot Lake State Park, 993 Goodyear Park Blvd. in Suffield, utilizing the same course that Field Cross Country Team runs.  The park setting provides participants with a scenic view of the park, the blimp hangar, and the lake, providing them with a challenge of hills and flat terrain.  Timing of the event will be done by Summit Athletic Running Club.    Post-race celebration, will be the awarding of the Top 3 Males and Females Overall, Top 3 by Age Groups.  There will be numerous give ways including a drawing for a Silver Lake Country Club Golf package for 4. 

Registration for the event is $20 until April 17 and $25 after that date.  T-shirts are guaranteed for all those who register by April 17.  For the safety of our participants, Strollers, Wagons and pets are not permitted on the park course.  Registration can be completed online through active.com or by mail.  Check the organization’s website for more registration and up to date information at www.portagelearningcenters5K.com.
