Western Reserve Academy senior Nick Sovich has been selected as a finalist in the Morehead-Cain Scholars Program.
Sovich, of Aurora, is one of approximately 112 finalists in the nationwide program, which offers a four-year merit scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, scholars attend a four-year Summer Enrichment Program that provides opportunities to participate in outdoor leadership, public service, inquiry and exploration and private enterprise, according to the program’s website.
Of the finalists, approximately 50 will be selected as Morehead-Cain Scholars. The scholars will be selected in early March, after each finalist has the opportunity to visit the university in March to tour the school and meet with members of the program’s Central Selection Committee.
