Kent Police have charged a city man with two felonies after an Akron Boulevard resident saw him through a window attempting to break into her home.
Terry Lee Bryant II, 32, of 334 Dodge St., was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with attempted aggravated burglary, a second-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
Lt. Paul Canfield said police were called at 11:11 p.m. Feb. 14 by a 49-year-old resident of the 700 block of Akron Boulevard who reported hearing a noise outside her door, then at a side window.

“When she looked out, she saw somebody out there trying to pry the screen open,” Canfield said.
Based on the woman’s description, police located Bryant near the intersection of Akron Boulevard and Middlebury Road, about one-quarter mile southwest of the victim’s home.

The victim provided positive identification, as did Bryant himself. “Since he left footprints in the snow, we were able to compare those and they were a match,” Canfield said.
He said Bryant “had a large knife and several other tools with him, including a wrench, at the time of his arrest.”
Police learned that Bryant had a prior altercation with a male resident of the home he had attempted to break into.
