Local author and former high school art teacher Wayne Sheppard will read from his debut novel, Burden of Privilege: the Secret Life of Geoffrey Collins, on Wednesday, November 30, at 6:30 pm in the 2nd floor meeting room. The novel recounts the story of UCLA botany professor Geoffrey Collins, who learns he is the reincarnation of George Washington Carver. Collins is led along an extraordinary odyssey of spiritual awakening, which is just as inspirational for the reader.
Copies of Burden of Privilege will be for sale after the reading through the Kent Free Library Foundation, and Mr. Sheppard will be available for signing. No registration is necessary; for more information, contact the Reference Desk.
