National Coming Out Day Event: "It Takes a Village"

"It Takes a Village: Providing Comprehensive Health Care Services to the LGBT Community.”

Approximately 11.7 million Americans identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). The LGBT community represents a large segment of society availing themselves of health care services.

A panel featuring a physician, pharmacist, community member and transgender diversity trainer will discuss delivering culturally competent care to the members of the LGBT community.

This event is being held Oct. 18, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. in Olsen Auditorium on the Northeast Ohio Medical University campus.

This event is part of the Embracing Diversity Series. The Embracing Diversity Series brings attention to and will focus on competencies around various diverse topics and cultural issues.
