The Out of Darkness Walk is a leisurely 3-5 mile walk through Kent State University. It is not a race, but a time to socialize, reflect, and enjoy the company of others. Bring your family, children, friends and especially if you have well behaved dogs, to join us for this event. Water stations will be available. Registration begins at 3:00; walk at 4:00.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for college-aged students. Kent State University and the Kent community continue to experience suicides in this age group, as well as those covering a range of ages. This walk is in an attempt to increase awareness of suicide, increase suicide prevention efforts and raise funds.
The College of Education, Health and Human Services desires to add to this awareness through raising money to support university suicide prevention programs.
